Cincinnati has a love affair with the arts and a preoccupation with the sciences, especially medicine. The city boasts the world-traveled Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra, the May Festival Chorus, the renowned LaSalle Quartet, the Cincinnati Opera, and the Cincinnati Ballet Company. The city has grown into an industrial center of world stature and is home to Procter & Gamble, Cincinnati Milacron, and General Electric.
In addition to the arts, Cincinnati is a city of assorted recreational activities. The Ohio River, as well as being a working waterway, offers a boating playground for people of all backgrounds and interests. The pride of Cincinnati sports fans are the city's two professional teams: the Cincinnati Reds and the Cincinnati Bengals. The city also supports the Cincinnati Cyclones (IHL), the Cincinnati Mighty Ducks (AHL), the Greater Cincinnati Rowing Center, a national team training center of the United States Rowing Association; and the annual ATP Tennis Championship. Also available for leisure activity are the Cincinnati Zoo and the Newport Aquarium.
It's easy to see why the Christian Science Monitor ranked Cincinnati as the most livable city in America. The newspaper calls Cincinnati a city that combines "aesthetic appeal, attractive and comfortable downtown areas, good government, easy commuting, pleasant suburbs, and wide access to cultural and recreational activities."
